Last year, legendary Listen Up musician Dan left the program after many wonderful years. Never one to let a special moment pass quietly, his good friend and former bandmate Paul decided to write him a song to let him know how much everyone missed him. Paul worked with Jon to write lyrics and recruit other musicians who knew Dan. Backup singers Kaley, Mike, and Tyler added their vocals to the song, with Paul playing drums and Tyler improvising a shaker part. Jon added piano, guitar, and harmonica. Here’s what Paul has to say to Dan about his newest song:
“When we were together I was so happy. When I saw you we both did fun things like singing songs, mixing songs, and in public we played our gigs with Eric. I just created this song for you to bring back our old times.”
